MARS Wildlife Rescue, based in Merville, BC, rehabilitates injured and orphaned wildlife while promoting conservation through education. 
Founded in 1995, it now operates a wildlife hospital and visitor center.

The Insipiration
 
Inspired by the rare albino crows, Nimpkish and Kokish, this design features real feather prints from two white feathers, each from one of the twins.
 
We carefully paint white silk screen ink onto the delicate feathers and press them onto the fabric, capturing their unique texture and form.
 
The choice of white ink reflects their rare albinism, a 1-in-30,000 occurrence in nature. This shirt is more than just apparel—it’s a tribute to these extraordinary birds and to MARS for all that they do.
 
The story of the Rare Twins.
 
Nimpkish and Kokish, rare albino crow siblings, were found separately but on the same day in 2020. Different people reported each bird being attacked by other crows. Kokish had a leg fracture, and Nimpkish was brought in soon after as the attacks continued. 
Albino crows are incredibly rare, with only a 1 in 30,000 chance of being seen—making the discovery of two even more extraordinary. Their albinism causes weak eyesight, fragile feathers, and difficulty staying warm, making survival in the wild nearly impossible. 
Veterinarians determined they would have the best quality of life as Ambassadors at MARS. 
Their names honor their birthplace in the ‘Namgis First Nation territory on northern Vancouver Island.
